Overview
With over 30 years of experience, ROSCH Company is the largest retaining wall company in the United States. As a valued member of our team, the Design Engineer will be responsible for creating innovative designs and solutions for various retaining wall projects across the country.
Responsibilities
- Develop structural designs for a variety of retaining wall types, including:
- Segmental retaining walls (small and large block systems).
- Mortared stone retaining walls.
- Reinforced concrete retaining walls and other site-related structures.
- Conduct detailed engineering analyses to ensure stability, strength, and compliance with project requirements.
- Develop comprehensive engineering plans in collaboration with CAD technicians to produce high-quality, construction-ready drawings.
- Provide clear instructions and markups to ensure design intent is accurately represented in final plans.
- Use AutoCAD and other structural design tools to create, modify, and validate engineering designs.
- Ensure that designs meet industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
- Generate detailed bid quantities based on contract plans for accurate cost estimation.
- Review plans and specifications to ensure quantities align with project scope and design intent.
- Perform structural calculations to validate the design of retaining walls and related structures.
- Review contract plans during the bidding phase to identify and address discrepancies or changes.
- Collaborate with project managers to align deliverables with project schedules and milestones.
- Provide regular updates and communicate effectively to ensure project goals are met.
- Review and provide constructive feedback on the work of other team members to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to design standards.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment by sharing expertise and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Skill Requirements
- Strong background in civil engineering.
- Expertise in CAD software (AutoCAD), with ability to create and modify detailed engineering plans.
- Familiarity with civil engineering principles and reinforced concrete design techniques.
- Proficiency in performing and validating engineering calculations to ensure structural integrity and compliance with standards.
- Experience with geotechnical engineering, including:
- Data interpretation and analysis.
- Slope stability evaluations.
- Providing design recommendations and construction guidelines.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
- Skilled in working with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders, to achieve project objectives.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Compensation
Pay Scale
$65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
